Welcome to the final part of the A+A Layering Guide. Over the past four weeks, we have covered chain lengths, mixing metals, the balance between pendants and plain chains and 3 A+A combinations to try today. Today we close out the series with the mistakes to avoid.
Content to cover:
- Chains too close in length (less than 2 inches apart) — they tangle and look like one messy chain
- Too many pendants in one stack — more than one competes for attention
- Ignoring your neckline — a crew neck swallows shorter chains
- Mismatched chain weights — pairing ultra-delicate with very heavy looks unbalanced
- Skipping a clasp check — tangled necklaces with broken clasps are the worst
- Over-layering — sometimes two chains is the answer, not five
- Wearing jewelry that isn't suited for the activity — gym, swimming, etc.
